Well I was skeptical and mainly because of the price being about half of the cost or even more of some of the others. The reviews actually better in most cases than the competition. Well it is working great, there is a delay because it gets so cold here at night and well the water gets cold even being insulated and that is to be expected, so if your looking for instant hot water get the one's that mount under your sink, otherwise your going to have a delay. We are at just above 4000 feet and still it works awesome (they do warn you for anything used above 3500 so we may be at the limit but I don't see it). Water is freezing cold here anyway and that had me worried. Wish I had took a water temp from the cold side before writing this. I'll put it this way the longer you run the water here the colder it gets and I mean finger numbing cold. Ya don't need ice for a cold glass of water here. I have the Eccotemp set up to run last off of the old gas water heater before it hits the main line and I may set up the old gas water heater so it just pre-warms the water only and find a balance between the two. One note and because we are so high up and the water being so cold here, you can run the sink and take a shower at the same time, BUT, not two showers at the same time. Probably during the summer though. They have me sold on the L-5 now for our RV and I'll do the same mounting it after the "old" hot water heater disconnect the shower head and hose and I may just mount it to the trailer or use quick disconnects and keep it mobile. Flippin AWESOME My only criticism is where they mounted the water or air draw off just under the cabinet, it has a screen built into it as well which is great. But it is to darn close to the cabinet and YOU have to insulate it. I'm making a box to enclose the water lines and have drilled an extra hole next to the gas and water lines so the heat from the crawl space will help keep the water lines safe from freezing and with out having to use heat tape. So far so good. Right now they are wrapped in a heavy trash bag full of R-19 insulation and that itself looks pretty cool, but I like the look of wood so I want to dress it up a bit more. Okay I'm rambling hope this helps.
There was a problem with my order initially, but once that was solved I got the item fairly quickly. I had a smaller heater that wasn't doing the job, but this one wnrks great. I'm very happy with it.
