Customer Reviews

As with the first reviewer, our hot water heater is at the opposite end of the house as our kitchen, and it took more than a minute to get hot water. We had a recirculating pump on the hot water system in our precious house, but that turned out to be problematic and expensive as a retrofit for a multilevel house. And I wanted no part of a gadget that bleeds hot water into the cold water line - it throws away hot water and the cold water is hot when first turned on. This water heater was an ideal solution. It is fed by the hot water line and the hot water supply is essentially instantaneous and continuous, that is, the hot water from the main water heater arrives before the small tank is emptied. Because the main heater is set at a slightly higher temperature, the small electric heater does not even turn on.
The unit appears to be very well constructed and comes with detailed and clear instructions. Almost too detailed - I hope I don't need to replace the heater, thermostat, or anode anytime soon. While installation is probably within reach of most do-it-yourselfers, I had a plumber install it since mating the pressure relief valve with the under-sink drain was not something I wanted to do.
The unit comes with a very short power cord that would not reach the outlet under the sink from the mounting position favorable to getting the relief valve connected to the drain. The directions advise that an extension cord should not be used. I looked at replacing the cord with a similarly rated longer one, and removed the bottom plate to get to the connections. The construction was impressive and I was not sure I could make as neat an installation with a different wire. My judgment was that using a 3' long air conditioner extension cord rated for 15 amps was preferable to replacing the wire. I ran the wire up high so that if it gets wet under the sink, where the cord meets the extension will stay dry.
I ordered this on Amazon but it came from one of Amazon's suppliers. Delivery was free and the unit arrived in just a couple of days.
As I write this, there is only one other review. That review says that the unit was made in the USA; mine came in a box labeled "Made in China."

Everything about this tiny water heater is fantastic.
The unit itself, as well as the shipping speed, leaves nothing to be desired.
A+ in every way.
